Happy Independence!

We had a great fourth of July this year. Clay, Maizyn and I went to "Heritage Days" in Issaquah at Memorial Park. It was a fun little festival with things to do for the kids. We missed the parade by 10 minutes, but still had a great time.

Maizyn tried Cotton Candy for the first time, and loved it.

She got her face painted very patriotically!

We barbecued streaks and Chicken for lunch/dinner, then Maizyn and I headed over the Folkmans for an even bigger barbecue and met my parents there. We headed to the Seattle Waterfront for Fireworks. Maizyn met a nice Clown that made her a beautiful balloon flower.

She danced to the band.
And finally saw the fireworks!

Maizyn loved them and was really excited to see them. Througout the day I kept telling her to say "Happy 4th of July", she would try but then got the words mixed up and would tell me, " I don't know how to say that." Finally on our way home from dropping off my family at around 11:30 at night, she says really excited, " Mommy I know how now!" I was confused and she says, " Happy Fourth of July Mommy! " It was so cute. I'm grateful to live in such a blessed country and to enjoy the freedom I have. God Bless America!

Hiking and haircuts

Last weekend, we went on the little "hike" to Snoqualmie Falls with Maizyn. She LOVED it. WE had a good time and ate our food on the rocks down below. The Falls were roaring and we were pretty much covered in moisture when we left. Good times...

The Lady that took our picture didn't do a very good job... oh well.

Maizyn was eating oreos and looks like a major HillBilly that has never brushed her teeth before...

There are her pearly whites!

Cute hairdo!

Hiking down

Loves her Daddy! Clay decided he need a little bit of a haircut too! I'm not a huge fan, but its better short than long!

I love that the sun is finally peaking through and summer is here! Let the fun begin!! :)

First haircut!

I know that most kids usually get their first haircut even before they are 1 years old or close to it, but if you remember, Maizyn didn't have hair until she was about16 months old... Now it just keeps growing and I LOVE IT! It was getting a little long in the back though, so we trimmed it up and evened it out. These are pictures after blow drying, so most of her curl is blown out here, but don't wory, when I leave it wet, she still has the cutest curls ever! I love how it turned out and isn't it amazing how much older they look just by an inch of their hair? Maizyn loves it too, shes a ham!

Weddings, Weddings, and more Weddings!

I feel like all we have been doing is hearing about, decorating for, and attending weddings this past month! Whew! My Mom has a unique and amazing talent of decorating for weddings / doing flowers / and sometimes even catering... of course she has enlisted me and Jadeyn and Dad as her helpers, and Heather has also started in on the family tradition. It's been a lot of work, but also kind of fun. It seems almost every other weekend has been involved in a wedding of some sort. My Mom is a trooper and I love what she does. I have even started doing some of the flowers and it is a rewarding feeling when you get all sorts of compliments and seeing the beautiful finished product. Here are a few pictures. I'll try to get a few more and post them sometime so you can see just how talented she is... I'm biased.
